How We Did Christmas For Less

Sometime between the Halloween candy and the first sighting of frozen turkeys at the grocery store, it hits me: The holidays are just around the corner. Almost overnight, my favorite shops shift their color schemes to red, green and silver. The aroma of gingerbread lattes wafts from every coffee shop. And when my 9-year-old, Sophie, starts posting her hand-scrawled "Santa Please" lists on our refrigerator, I know the holiday season has really arrived.
